Easy Method to Force Delete a File or Folder in Windows 10

This comes in very handy when you can’t remove a file or folder from your hard drive.

  1. Click mouse on file or folder you wish to delete so that it is highlighted.
  2. Press Shift + Delete to force delete a file or folder.

Thunderbird is taking over all outgoing mail – send to, even though it is not set as the default email program in Windows 10

I use Outlook as my default email client, but occasionally I use Thunderbird. Even though Outlook is set as the default in Windows 10, in many programs when I use the “Send as email”, “Send To” function it brings out a Thunderbird dialog box instead of Outlook. If I uninstall Thunderbird then it works correctly. How do I prevent Thunderbird from taking over this function even when it’s not set as the default?

Answer:
Please check registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Clients\Mail
‘Start’ > Run > type regedit Locate this registry entry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Clients\Mail on right side double click on ‘Default’ Enter Microsoft Outlook in ‘Value Data’

If Data = Thunderbird, then change it to Microsoft Outlook.
Name = (Default)
Type = REG_SZ
Data = Microsoft Outlook

Over-Reporting – Make sure that “Track Events Automatically Without Code” is set to OFF

This is the most common cause of the over reporting problem, so don’t ignore this step.

Open your Facebook Ads Manager top menu and look for “Events Manager”. Click on the link and click on the Pixel ID you have installed on your website.

Click on “Settings” (left side menu) and scroll down until you find an option called “Track Events Automatically Without Code”. Make sure it is turned OFF.

What “Track Events Automatically Without Code” option does?

When this option is turned ON, Facebook’s intelligent algorithm will try to “guess” what your users are doing. It will automatically associate actions to standard events, figuring out when things like add to cart or purchases occur. 

The problem is that if your Facebook Pixel already fires those events, you will end up with the same data being reported multiple times.

If you implement your Facebook Pixel with Pixel Conversion Pro that tracks all your pixel events, you must turn OFF “Track Events Automatically Without Code”. 

***Important***

Why is Facebook over-reporting purchases?

The most common cause is that you have “Track Events Automatically Without Code” turned ON. Make sure when using Pixel Conversion Pro that this setting is turned OFF for all Pixel ID’s.

Force Browser Refresh for CSS Files, Normal Images and Background images

Here are my examples for forcing the web browser to display your most current updates for CSS Files, Normal Images and your Background images. Remember you will need to change the version numbers each time you want your new changes to be forced to everyone viewing your app or web page.

Test Code Examples:

<link rel="stylesheet" href="test.css?v=1234">
<img src="images/test.jpg?v=1234" alt="Test">
background: url(../images/test.png?v=1234);

Advanced Automated CSS:
<link rel="stylesheet" href="css/test.css?<?=filemtime('css/test.css');?>">

Again, just change the ?v=1234 to a new number like ?v=1235

Third Party Payment Gateway Systems

Are you using a Third Party Payment Gateway System? Sorry but we are not integrated with any third party payment systems. You can always try a third party payment system but when testing using The Facebook Pixel Helper and you don’t see the Purchase Pixel on the Thank You Page then it doesn’t work then all we can do is recommend using the Standard payment methods built into Shopify.

How to opt back into Facebook Ads:

  • Login to Facebook and then click on the down triangle in the upper right corner and then click on settings
  • On the left side find and click on Ads then under Ads based on data from partners click on Allowed
  • Then for Ads based on your activity on Facebook Company Products that you see elsewhere, click on Allowed

How to Remove the Shopify Built In Pixel Tracking from your store

Below are the old methods:

Please remove your Facebook Pixel ID from the Shopify Built In Pixel Tracking on your store, otherwise you will get duplicate pixel events and inaccurate data reporting.

Case 1

Here are the Written Steps to Remove Your Pixel ID from the Shopify Built In Pixel Tracking system:

  • Login to your Store Admin.
  • Click on Online Store.
  • Click on Preferences.
  • Remove your Pixel ID from Facebook Pixel Field and then click on Save.
  • Open Pixel Conversion Pro and Enter you Pixel ID.

Case 2

Also, are you using the App KIT or have you ever used it in the past? It’s not compatible with our app, and it will force the Shopify Facebook Pixel Tracking onto your store, even if you have removed your Facebook Pixel ID from your Preferences page. If you have used KIT in the past you will need to remove any authorizations with Facebook that occurred during the installation process. You may also need to contact Shopify and find out how to remove those authorizations for KIT, because Shopify is the developer for the app KIT.

Case 3

Also, if you have setup the Facebook Marketing component of Shopify inside Shopify it will force the Shopify Built In Pixel Tracking that can cause you to get duplicate pixel events and inaccurate reporting. You will need to disable this also.

Case 4

Also, if you have the Facebook Marketing App by Shopify it will force the Shopify Built In Pixel Tracking that can cause you to get duplicate pixel events and inaccurate reporting. You will need to delete this also.
